Mission

The mission of the Library is to facilitate academic learning and research, to support the college curriculum, to enhance classroom instruction and the critical thinking process, the teaching of information literacy, and to promote professional, ethical, and social growth by providing the latest information resources, services, and technologies to students and faculty. The Library further endeavors to stimulate and encourage the development of lifelong learning.

The traditional purpose of an academic library is to support the curriculum. This can be accomplished in a nontraditional way by relying heavily on electronic resources, as well as print and non-print materials. A 21st century library is also dedicated to the provision of information literacy. Most importantly, the purpose of the Edward Waters University Library is to focus on the nature of the academic programs and of the student body served, demanding nothing less.

Library Goals

  • To facilitate student and faculty academic learning and research.
  • To support the college curriculum.

  • To enhance classroom instruction.
